The 3000R is Velit's most powerful DC rooftop air conditioner, offering a massive 12,000 BTU of cooling power (at 48V) while drawing as little as 6A.

This unit features a tuned twin-cylinder rotor compressor, a flush-mount motorized air distribution box, and whisper-quiet operation. Whether you're cooling your van, RV, or off-grid cabin, it delivers comfort without compromise. It is a great fit for any of our van roof racks.

At just 7 inches tall, this ultra-slim unit fits standard 14”x14” rooftop cutouts, and the full kit makes installation simple. For uneven van surfaces, we recommend sealant (not included). It works with 24V or 48V systems and pairs well with EcoFlow Power Kits (in 48V).

While you can install the Velit 3000R yourself, we recommend hiring a professional to ensure safety and a proper weather-sealed fit.

2.Can I run the air conditioner while driving?

Yes, but it’s recommended only with generator or alternator power. Running on battery while driving may drain your system quickly.

3.What size air conditioner do I need?

For vans and compact RVs, the Velit 3000R’s 12,000 BTU capacity is ideal. For every 350 sq ft, 13,500 BTU is the general rule.

4.Can I run this unit on solar power?

Yes, but you’ll need a high-capacity solar array and battery system. We recommend 10kWh+ battery banks with at least 800W of solar for optimal performance.

5.How often should I clean my air conditioner filters?

Clean or replace filters monthly during periods of frequent use. This ensures proper airflow and cooling efficiency.

6.Does this work with EcoFlow Power Kits?

Yes. The Velit 3000R is compatible with EcoFlow Power Kits via the 48V DC output, especially when using our 48V A/C cable (sold separately).

7.What is the Velit return policy?

I questioned ordering from Orion Van Gear but they had good reviews so I gave it a try. I ordered a Maxxair 00-07500K vent fan, they had it at a very good price. I received it in a week, the part was what I ordered and in good shape. I would recommend Orion Van Gear, if they have something I need, I would use them again. I won't Install the fan until spring (it's December now) so I can't give a review on how the fan works.

As advertised, straight forward install. Seems expensive, but it is way more stout than a strip of LED lights that goes on with adhesive. Slides into existing groove so there's no way its coming loose.

Orion Van Gear is an amazing small business! I had 1 solar panel arrive shattered and reported it to the carrier and Orion. Orion apologized and sent me a replacement the next business day. They even coordinated the claim with the carrier.

I am impressed with their customer service. Not once did I get the run-around and they kept me abreast of every action to resolve the mishap.

I bought 2 Surf Poles and hooks for my 2025 Coachmen Nova 20D and they fit perfectly. Installation was easy—just had to drill two holes for each pole on the roof rack. I install a lot of these for customers so I'm familiar with a lot of competitors and I'm super impressed with this heater! I was looking for a good heater that works with gasoline at a more affordable price. This is about 1/2 the price of some other brands with even more benefits. My favorite part is you can change the heater from gasoline to diesel or vice versa with an app!
Other things I noticed that were impressive was the fuel filter is made of metal instead of plastic like every other brand has.
The wire harness is easier and more DIY friendly. You don't need to crimp anything on the wires for it to work with the pump, super plug and play!
