The Transit Side Ladder is designed to provide easy access to the roof of your van for a variety of tasks, such as cleaning solar panels, mounting gear, or simply enjoying rooftop views. Perfectly crafted to attach directly to our Ford Transit Stealth+ Rack, this ladder combines durability, safety, and versatility to enhance your van life experience.
Constructed from 1.25” aluminum tubing, this two-piece ladder offers strength and reliability while remaining lightweight at just 11 pounds. Its sleek design follows the natural lines of the Ford Transit, maximizing both aesthetics and functionality. Whether you're an overland enthusiast, camper, or daily driver, this ladder is a must-have accessory for your Transit van.
The ladder attaches seamlessly to our Stealth+ Rack, with a bottom bracket that mounts to the pinch seam and undercarriage, and a top connection to the roof rack. Installation requires only minimal drilling for a secure fit.
Whether you’re cleaning your solar panels, accessing roof-mounted gear, or just need quick access to your rooftop, this side ladder provides a sturdy, reliable solution.
The side ladder is specifically designed for 2015+ Ford Transit 148 High Roof and 2015+ Ford Transit 148 EXT High Roof models with an Orion Roof Rack. It may also work with other roof racks that are flat on the sides and have similar dimensions to the Orion Transit rack, but we recommend checking the measurements to ensure compatibility.
No, the ladder requires 3 simple holes drilled into the Stealth+ Rack for a secure installation. All necessary hardware is included, and the installation process is straightforward.

Absolutely. The precision laser-cut grip and non-slip rungs ensure the ladder remains safe and reliable, even in wet or slippery conditions, making it ideal for off-road and overland adventures.
The ladder is coated with a premium UV-resistant powder coating that protects it from harsh weather, so very little maintenance is needed. Simply clean it periodically to ensure longevity.
The ladder is lightweight, weighing only 11 pounds, making it easy to install and handle without compromising durability.

Yes, we offer FREE SHIPPING to the lower 48 states in the US. For Alaska, Hawaii, or international orders, please contact us for shipping rates.
The ladder is proudly made in Oregon, USA, ensuring top-quality craftsmanship and materials.
While it is designed to work with the Orion Stealth+ Roof Rack, it may be compatible with other roof racks that are flat on the sides and have similar dimensions. We recommend verifying measurements before installing on non-Orion racks.
The ladder is not guaranteed to work with full-length running boards. Compatibility varies by brand, and in many cases the running board blocks the lower mounting bracket. If you want to keep full-length boards, you may need custom fabrication, such as shortening the ladder, modifying the bracket, or attaching it directly to your running board. Most Transit owners who run side ladders use half-length or three-quarter-length running boards, which leave the pinch seam open for mounting. If you are considering new running boards, we recommend those shorter styles for the best fit.

Great A/C so far, combined with DIYVan roof adapter, able to make it sit flush with ceiling on inside of the van. On a 170EXT, I opted for (2) of the 48v mini A/C to separate front and back. Combined with the 5kwh Ecoflow system, I can run both AC all night off battery power only. I'm happy with them, and Orion is always a huge help in answering questions and support.
Great setup. The dual 48V minis are a nice way to control front and rear zones on a 170EXT, and pairing them with the EcoFlow 5kWh system works really well for overnight runtime. Glad everything is working well, and we appreciate the support. Let us know if you ever need anything.
This roof rack is a Cadillac. Clear, well written instructions in full English. I wanted a rack that could fit 600 watts of solar, a rooftop AC and a max air fan. Steve helped me last the design out and chose panels. The goal was to fit two 200w panels in North/South orientation by the wind deflector, AC and maxxair fan in the big bay aft of the c pillar rib and a third 200w panel by the rear deflector.
This rack has more usable interior space than any other rack I could find, especially in the East/West measurement. It is rock solid, only weighs 80lbs and looks great.
It is one of the more expensive racks out there but for my build it was money well spent. I like supporting American companies that make nice things and this is a very nice thing.
Really appreciate you taking the time to write this and share the details of your setup. That layout you described is exactly the type of planning we try to make possible with these racks. Being able to fit solar, ventilation, and AC without wasting roof space is a big part of the design. Glad the CAD layout helped you land on a configuration that worked. Also good to hear the install instructions did their job. We put a lot of effort into making them clear so people can actually get everything mounted without a headache. Thanks again for the support and for choosing to go with an american-made rack. Always cool to see these builds come together the way they were intended.
Great company to work with, thanks for prompt delivery ,,,,.5 stars for this company.
We just installed a Stealth+ on our 2026 High Roof Transit. So glad to have an option that works with the new shark fin antenna location in the '26 model year. Another advantage of the Stealth+ rack is that its usable area is wider and longer than other racks. That, along with the Orion team's help in providing CAD layouts was SUPER helpful in thinking through our roof layout and how to fit 600W of solar along with a vent fan and Starlink Mini.
Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that the Stealth+ was a perfect fit for your 2026 High Roof Transit, especially with the new shark fin antenna location. We take pride in providing solutions that cater to the latest updates. Thank you for choosing Orion and happy travels!
