Customers praised these roof deck panels for excellent fit and finish, easy installation, and durability. Reviews highlight "super easy to install" and compatibility with solar panels. The panels integrate well with roof racks, providing a sturdy walking surface. Customers appreciated responsive customer service and detailed instructions. Minor drilling required for some setups.
Recently purchased and installed a roof rack, rigid solar panels, and D deck panels for Sprinter. Orion was quick and professional answering my questions and the installation instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Installed mainly by myself with minimal tools. A solid well thought out and designed product.

I love the Rack and Panels but unfortunately, I ordered some wrong size panels that would not work how I wanted it with my walkable solar panels. Orion was great about this and helped me get the correct panels and gave me a refund. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for van gear.
Hi Eric, Thanks for the great review! We're glad we could help you get the right panels and that you're happy with our service. We appreciate your recommendation and are here if you need further assistance! Best, The Orion Van Gear Team
We installed 6 A deck panels on a FLVC rack for a low top sprinter. Had to drill a few holes but that wasn’t all that big of a deal. They fit perfect! Nice study deck so it’s not so sketchy loading kayaks now.
Dear Patricia, We’re thrilled to hear our Modular Roof Deck Panels fit perfectly on your FVCO rack and made your kayak loading experience safer and easier. It’s great to see our panels' versatility in action, even on non-Orion racks. Our panels are designed to be compatible with any rack that features 2x1' or 3x1' 8020 style crossbars, ensuring a broad range of usability. Plus, our commitment to offering a variety of sizes and competitive pricing adds to their appeal for van enthusiasts like yourself. Enjoy your more secure and convenient kayaking adventures, and thank you for choosing us! Warm regards, Orion Van Gear
2 "B" panels fill the gaps in my roof rack...perfectly! I am a wise Owl!
Shawn - Hoot hoot hooray! Your wise owl instincts have served you well – glad to hear our 'B' deck panels filled those gaps in your roof rack to a T. Keep soaring high with your perfect setup!
Installed 3 175W walkable solar panels over the Orion Sprinter Rack and Roof Panels. Filled up the rack space perfectly with only 4"-5" of extra space. Electrical controllers not in yet so can't comment on them in use but the install looks good.
Mike, Thanks for the review! Fitting 525 watts of solar panels and an AC on a 144 is quite a feat, let alon that its a fully usable deck also! - OVG ☀️
What can I say? They’re great! Came exactly as described. Hardware was all there and very good quality. Install was even easier than expected. They went above and beyond to help me make sure I was ordering the correct panels. They were the exact size listed in their description. Packaging was phenomenal to avoid any possible shipment damage.
I installed (5) “B” Panels on a Transit Van with a V2 Flatline Van Co. Lo Pro rack. With my setup I was required to drill (2) small bolts for crossbar spacing in the rear.
These roof panels were super easy to install and make it so much easier to attach things to my roof. With just the rails and only one ladder it’s extremely difficult to strap down even a surfboard. Now I can get right up onto the roof with ease! Great product! Now it’s time to install my roof top fan.
Super stoked to get our roof rack with the deck panels installed allowing us to get 600 watts of walkable solar panels on the deck! This thing is completely DIY. With this roof rack system, we have a Maxxair Fan, a 12v AC, a full deck, and 600 watts of walkable solar! Can't beat that.
Fit and finish is excellent, easy to install. We’ll see how it holds up to abuse.
Fit and finish is excellent, easy to install, looks great. We’ll see how it holds up to abuse.
I used a mix of Sprinter and Ford Transit roof deck panels 2.0 to maximize the roof space. See photo. I like the size options, flush mount screws and powder coating. Makes for a nice look. Versatility of L-track hole locations are TBD. need some big trips.
Thanks, Dave
I sent my roof dimensions and within a day they send me a floor plan that had one less panel than what i originally thought I would need. I appreciate the honesty. The panels were super easy to mount and are extremely durable and well made.
Great fit and easy install. We ate very happy with this roof rack!!!
Best roof deck on the market!
What do each panel weigh? I need to make sure I dont go over for safety reasons and it doesn't say on the website
Our Sprinter deck panels are very lightweight, ranging from about 1.3 pounds up to 7.7 pounds depending on the size. For example, a B-panel weighs roughly 7 pounds. They’re among the lightest options available on the market.
Would these panels work on a flatline van co standard roof rack? Mine has 80/20 cross bars.
Brett, our deck panels are designed for 2"x1" or 3"x1" 10 series extruded aluminum crossbars that come with our roof racks (and come with the required hardware to mount). If you have another brands roof rack (non-orion) and the same crossbars as ours then our deck panels can still work as long as your racks usable width is wide enough for your desired panels. We have had numerous customers install these on Flatline Van Co and Backwoods roof racks.
Could these panels be used on the Promaster Orion Stealth+ Roof Rack? Understand the sizing/ dimensions and fit may not be perfect, but curious if a compatible mounting system is used. Thanks!
Technically they can work on our Promaster Stealth+ rack but it would require that you switch from 15 series crossbars to 10 series 2"x1" crossbars. You can now order the Promaster Rack with 10s Crossbars if you email us before ordering. If you already have a rack that has 15s crossbars we can ship you new ones if. you want to upgrade to aluminum deck panels.
Could you please provide the panel deck configuration for a Sprinter 170 Extended. What is the total weight of the panels. Thank you.
There are hundreds of different configurations for each wheel base sprinter. Each one depends if you want a full platform, or if you need to go around through-the-roof accessories like fans, AC's, or hatches. Contact us and we can create a certified cad model based on your van.
I just finished the install of the MaxxFan Deluxe, replacing a stock vent fan in our new Class C MH. Following the written (and online ‘how to’ videos) guidance, the install was straightforward. Most of the 3.5 hour job was spent cleaning off the old lap sealant in preparation for the new fan.
Fan works well in all functions. Thank you MaxxAir for a good product and thank you Orion for a great sales price!
Tonto H.
So quiet. Easy to install. We received the wrong item from Orion (black interior control panel vs white) We contacted them via email and they immediately gave us several options to make it right. The fan works great and the customer service Orion provides is top notch.
Hi Jamye, Sorry about the mix-up with the interior panel, but we're glad we could resolve it quickly. Thanks for your kind words and video! Its a slick fan!
Amazing product so far. Big pro is it's low draw on my jacket 600v. 4 days of use and the battery percentage is still at 70%. Convenience of the remote being able to be used from anywhere. The noise level is very low at 40-50% fan power. I chose this unit instead of maxxair because it matched my van aesthetically and it's very low profile that i'm still able to park inside my work's parking structure. The con was during installation, this unit did not come with a sleeve that bridges the gap from the headliner to the fan itself. It did not sit flush and the manual **** that pushes up the metal rod(the longest one) does not reach because of it. I have to rely on the remote. Very good purchase and it's perfect for what i use it for.
We’re glad to hear the NomadicArk fan has been working well for your setup, especially the low power draw, quiet operation, remote control, and low-profile fit for parking structures.
One note on the install: the AirPlus is designed differently than a MaxxFan and does not use or include an interior sleeve. The fan is rated for a maximum roof thickness of about 3 1/8'. By comparison, a MaxxFan 7500K includes a sleeve-style interior garnish that can accommodate a thicker roof/headliner stack, up to about 6'.
Thanks again for the feedback, and we’re happy it ended up being a great fit for your van.
Orion Van Gear offered the best pricing on my two new MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe fans and they arrive SO fast. The install on our our 5th wheel went exceptionally well. Thank you for the great experiences.
