This 30W Hood Solar Panel is a custom-fit 12v hood-mounted solar solution for Ram ProMaster vans, 2023 and newer. It is designed to help maintain a vehicle battery, auxiliary battery, or compatible power station during daylight without taking up roof or cargo space. This panel is shaped for the vehicle hood and uses plug-and-play wiring for a simpler install. The hood-mounted design also avoids the setup and storage tradeoffs that come with portable solar panels.
This product is designed for Ram ProMaster vans, 2023-present. Review the fitment year range and option details before ordering. If you have an older Promaster 2013-2022 then you need a different version.

No. The panel mounts to the hood and does not require a roof rack.
That depends on the option selected. The product is available as panel only, panel plus vinyl decal, panel plus MPPT controller, or as a complete kit.
It uses Grade A PERC monocrystalline solar cells.
The ETFE surface is described as helping reduce light reflection and hood glare while driving.
The panel is listed at 3 mm thick and 2.2 lb net weight.

So far so good. Installed on my Sportsmobile converted dodge promaster. Waiting for the rain to see how it does in wet conditions. Once I figured out how to install it was VERY easy. Only ask would be more details on initial installation process since I wasn't sure exactly where to place the track. Once I got it installed and put the fly in the track it was so easy. Excited for how this will work on my pop-top van.
Love it! I researched a lot before deciding on Orion. I just think their design out looks all the others. This is functional, solid, and easy install. Customer service was excellent. They answered all my questions. I didn’t build my van, I bought it already done. Solar panel and all, I was able to move the solar panel to a better location using their solar panel brackets, I’ll easily add some decking following their recommendations of what decking product to use, and be able to store items I don’t want in the van. Love supporting a local Oregon business. Would recommend them to everyone. Oh and I got the rack with the lights. Totally recommend. The install was perfect and they really light up the night!
Thank you, Krysta! It’s so great to see everything come together on your van. We’re glad we could help you get the solar placement dialed in and plan for decking and extra storage. And thank you for sharing the videos showing off the rear scene lights and flush solar brackets; they’re a huge help to others planning their setups! We really appreciate your recommendation and support for a local Oregon business. Enjoy your adventures!
The ladder is awesome. Super solid. Customer service was also super awesome. Answered my zillion questions quickly through email. Orion products just look so sleek and … stealthy. Glad to support a local business as well. Maybe that’s why shipping was next day.
Hi Krysta, thank you for the video! Glad you love it! Made in Oregon!
great customer service and communication
Love the Stealth+ rack for my 2026 Ford Transit. Orion's team has been great to work with. Everything arrived on time and is high quality. Installation instructions via the PDF on their website were excellent. Text and graphics in the instructions were accurate and contained just the right amount of information.
