1. What do I need to complete my off-grid solar power system? To complete an off-grid solar system, you need a solar panel, a charge controller to regulate the current, and a battery to store power. Additionally, adapter kit cables are necessary to connect the solar panel to the charge controller and a deep-cycle battery.
2. What is the difference between off-grid and on-grid systems?On-grid systems are connected to the electrical grid, allowing you to use solar power and sell excess energy back to the grid. Off-grid systems are independent from the grid and store power for later use, making them immune to grid blackouts.
3. Why is my solar panel underproducing?Several environmental factors can impact solar panel performance, including indirect sunlight, high temperatures, cloudy skies, and dirt or stains on the panel’s surface.
4. How should I connect solar panels in my electrical circuit: series or parallel?Connecting panels in series increases the voltage to meet system requirements, while connecting in parallel maintains voltage but increases current. Choose the setup based on your power needs, or combine both for optimized output and system rating.
5. How many solar panels do I need? The number of panels depends on your power requirements, measured in watt-hours. Calculate your daily power needs, factor in the hours of operation, and multiply by a safety factor of 1.5 to 2 to determine the required wattage. This will help you decide on the number of panels needed.
6. What are the benefits of using bifacial solar panels?Bifacial panels capture sunlight from both sides, providing more power and efficiency compared to monofacial panels. They perform better in overcast conditions and offer flexible installation in various orientations.
7. What does 12V mean in the product title, and how is it different from the panel’s voltage? The "12V" in the title indicates that the panel is suitable for 12V battery systems. This is different from the panel’s actual voltage rating (e.g., VOC or VMP), which defines its electrical characteristics. This label helps customers choose the right panel for their system requirements.

I just finished the install of the MaxxFan Deluxe, replacing a stock vent fan in our new Class C MH. Following the written (and online ‘how to’ videos) guidance, the install was straightforward. Most of the 3.5 hour job was spent cleaning off the old lap sealant in preparation for the new fan.
Fan works well in all functions. Thank you MaxxAir for a good product and thank you Orion for a great sales price!
Tonto H.
So quiet. Easy to install. We received the wrong item from Orion (black interior control panel vs white) We contacted them via email and they immediately gave us several options to make it right. The fan works great and the customer service Orion provides is top notch.
Hi Jamye, Sorry about the mix-up with the interior panel, but we're glad we could resolve it quickly. Thanks for your kind words and video! Its a slick fan!
Amazing product so far. Big pro is it's low draw on my jacket 600v. 4 days of use and the battery percentage is still at 70%. Convenience of the remote being able to be used from anywhere. The noise level is very low at 40-50% fan power. I chose this unit instead of maxxair because it matched my van aesthetically and it's very low profile that i'm still able to park inside my work's parking structure. The con was during installation, this unit did not come with a sleeve that bridges the gap from the headliner to the fan itself. It did not sit flush and the manual **** that pushes up the metal rod(the longest one) does not reach because of it. I have to rely on the remote. Very good purchase and it's perfect for what i use it for.
We’re glad to hear the NomadicArk fan has been working well for your setup, especially the low power draw, quiet operation, remote control, and low-profile fit for parking structures.
One note on the install: the AirPlus is designed differently than a MaxxFan and does not use or include an interior sleeve. The fan is rated for a maximum roof thickness of about 3 1/8'. By comparison, a MaxxFan 7500K includes a sleeve-style interior garnish that can accommodate a thicker roof/headliner stack, up to about 6'.
Thanks again for the feedback, and we’re happy it ended up being a great fit for your van.
Orion Van Gear offered the best pricing on my two new MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe fans and they arrive SO fast. The install on our our 5th wheel went exceptionally well. Thank you for the great experiences.
