Introducing the EcoFlow 10kWh Power Kit, the world's first integrated, plug-and-play off-grid power solution designed especially for camper vans, motor homes, trailers, and RVs of any kind. It also works with any RV air conditioner, but it's especially well-suited for a 48-volt DC air conditioner, as you can plug a 48V DC air conditioner directly into one of the battery ports, leaving the other two battery ports available.

EcoFlow has designed a compact, scalable power system that consists of 4 main components:

  • EcoFlow Power Hub - including a 3600W pure sine inverter-charger with max AC output of a whopping 7200W, dual MPPT solar charge controllers, a DC/DC converter, DC/DC battery charger, and plug-in input/output ports for solar, alternator, battery and generator charging.
  • EcoFlow Power Kit Console - a 7" full-color LCD touchscreen for control and monitoring of all electrical system inputs and outputs. You can turn DC and AC inputs on and off, and monitor the remaining battery capacity.
  • EcoFlow AC/DC Distribution Panel - The 3-component panel is designed for 6 AC circuits and 12 DC circuits. It has a transparent exterior faceplate, a removable interior face panel, and a deep connection box with knockouts and WAGO-style circuit connectors.
  • EcoFlow Battery - The 48-volt lithium EcoFlow batteries are long-life lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, which have an operating temperature from -4 F to 122 F because of their built-in auto heating. The 10 kWh EcoFlow Power Kit has two 5 kWh batteries.

POWER KIT ADVANTAGES

Many van builders design custom electrical systems with Victron Energy power components. Often these are reliable, excellent systems, but they are very complex and expensive, requiring many hours of research and design. After installation, problems with this kind of camper van electrical system can be difficult to troubleshoot, since every system is unique. In contrast, EcoFlow Power Kits are:

Plug-and-Play - EcoFlow Power Kits offer a standardized, simplified power system that has a very simple installation process, comes with all the necessary cabling between the components and charging sources, and doesn't require extensive design experience or specialized tools. Most builders that we've talked to estimate that an EcoFlow Power Kit reduces their power system build times from 25+ man-hours down to 2-3. It's easy to plug in another battery for increased capacity or plug in more solar panels for faster battery charging.

Four Charging Methods, Up to 6000W - An EcoFlow Power Kit enables you to use any combination of the charging methods most useful for a van or RV, including solar, alternators, shore power, and generators.

  • Solar - Three ports allow for up to 1600W of solar charging on each port, up to 4800W total. 
  • Alternator - Three ports can also be used for alternator charging, 1600W each, up to 4800W total. Charge the system with single or dual alternators from 12-60V.
  • Generator - Connect an EcoFlow Dual-Fuel Smart Generator (or any other brand of generator) for up to 1800W of charging
  • Shore Power - Connect a 30A shore power source for charging from RV park/campground power.

Compact & Integrated Design - Unlike other RV power solutions, Power Kits combine five components into one Power Hub that deals with all your power needs, saving you space, money, and set-up hassle. EcoFlow 5kWh batteries securely stack in threes, giving you an expandable capacity of up to 15kWh. A large battery bank like this (the equivalent of a 1200 Ah 12V bank) would require a lot of large cables and a lot of space for all those batteries with most RV electrical systems, with EcoFlow components, it's only 3 battery cables and 3 batteries that plug into the Power Hub in moments. Cable management is already done for you.

Space-Saving Solutions - To save valuable space, EcoFlow shrank down the traditional power kit, integrating components, using thinner wires, creating a smaller power solution, and a unique stackable battery design with integrated battery cabling. If you choose, you can conveniently conceal the Power Hub, batteries, and other accessories so the entire power system is out of sight, under seats, around the wheel wells, or in a cabinet.

***Important Notes - Most 12V air conditioners will only work on eco mode with any Ecoflow Power Kit. If you want an AC we highly recommend getting a 48V AC.

The future of van power systems

My original build plan was to build a conventional Victron system from the ground up, but having little electrical experience I was super anxious about risks involved. Orion turned me on to EcoFlow and it was a game changer. Truly a plug and play system, simplifying getting power in the van enormously. After a year of use with only a couple of minor start up issues (which helped me solve) it’s been exactly as advertised. My 10kwh system is configured 12v on the output side but 48v on the input side and with three input ports that means I can use 2 for the 5kwh batteries and the third port for my Nomadic X2 48v air con unit which generates close to 13,000 btus- perfect combo. The UI is super simple, elegant and easy to use both on the van mounted console and the smart phone app. With simple hook ups for solar, alternator charging and shore power the system has been powerful and reliable. I see and hear about more and more pro upfitters installing EcoFlow systems rather than conventional systems - there’s a reason for that. Great system - highly recommended.

Have the power kits had a fix to allow them to power a 12 or 24 volt RV Air conditioner?

You can use a 12v, 24v, or 48c AC with the Ecoflow Power Kits. We recommend 48V AC with the Power Kit over a 12V/24V AC for the following reasons (from most important to least): 1) no subtraction of DC power from overall DC output, still have full 1000W@12V or 1600W@24V. 2) Can provide higher-output cooling. 3) Less complex wiring (no need for bus bars), more compact. 4) Less heat in the system with lower current.
Note: the 48v cable only works on the 5kwh and 10kwh systems at the moment as it does require a special 48v cable from the AC to the 3rd battery port on the power kit. They are working on a splitter cable for the 15kwh systems but it is not released yet.
